The Philippines has more than 7100 islands among them Aborlan is well-known island and city. Aborlan is a first class municipality in the province of Palawan. It was founded in the year June 28,1949, by virtue of executive order no.232 in 1951,it lost the barrios of Berong and Alfonso XII when these were transferred to the then newly created town of Quezon. It is politically subdivided into 19 barangays and this city is ruled by Mayor. The present mayor of the city is Jamie M.Ortega. It lies in a vast plain between the sulu sea and the mountains. It is located in the south of Puerto Princesa city( 69 kilometers).

The population is near about 32209, according to the census 2010. Though they belong to minority town, it is the only town in the province with an Agricultural college, now it is called as Western Philippines University. This city is well known for their attractive historical places, adventures, religious. Aborlan fall, churches, Tubbataha reef national marine park, st paul subterranean river national park, butterfly garden, dolphin watching, Palawan scuba diving- snorkeling and swimming.the marine and bird sanctuary consists of two huge calls and the smaller Jenie Beazely reef covering a total area of 97030 hectares.

The more attractive is a man-made tourist is the whig prison and penal farm which is more interesting. These are the place for a tourist visit. Man-made tourist is attractive for their agricultural and also famous for the penal farm which is located in barangay iwahig, Puerto princesa city , Palawan ,35 minutes by tricycle from the city. The colony encompasses a 37-hectare scenic farm planted with coconut palm tree, rice, and other crop cultivation. Within the farm is balsahan river is known for its cascading waters coming from nearing by mountains. Though this city is small and minority they practice modern farming. Their economy is based on their agriculture, trading of seafood and tourism. The city has all three main modes of transportation including Sea, Air, and Water.

The city is just one and a half kilometer from the Puerto Princesa international Airport. The city is served by the cities domestic passenger ferries. Though these are not the primary transportation mode. These are well used by the tourists.Even though the city has got all kinds of mode of transportation but people mostly prefer to tricycle. In the transportation, Aborlan is famous for its E-tricycle also.
